Main purpose of job:
To improve financial compliance and understanding of Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) process by delivering training to 156 British Embassies/High Commissions across 7 geographical regions covering Purchase-to-Pay and other Finance related processes.
Produce finance guidance, design, and prepare training materials. Deliver trainings for Senior Budget Holders, Budget Managers, Programme Managers, Corporate Services Teams, and Partners Across Government through video conference, calls, and face-to-face sessions.
Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve:
1. Training Delivery
- Deliver Finance Training to Corporate Services Managers, Budget Managers, Programme Managers and Senior Budget Holders explaining Finance Management and Global Transaction Processing Centre (GTPC) processes in collaboration with the Finance Training team based in the UK.
- Deliver at least 4 Training Conferences throughout the year for Corporate Services Staff and other government departments.
- Design and deliver P2P training for new Corporate Services staff based at British Embassies/High Commissions and new hires in GTPC Manila as required.
- Deliver Ad Hoc or bespoke training as required by specific British Embassies/High Commissions/departments to address challenges related to P2P.
- Deliver twice a year Topic Calls (webinars) to Directorates on key issues identified, designing, and developing content and curriculum.
- Set calls/trainings with the 10-bottom performing British Embassies/High Commissions quarterly to discuss KPI scores, address common issues and provide support in driving performance.
- Perform other duties as requested by the Line Manager and provide support as needed by the organisation.
2. Stakeholder Engagement
- Build working relationships with key contacts at British Embassies/High Commissions collaboratively to improve service delivery. Use KPIs and enquiry reports to identify Posts which require additional training.
- Coordinate and meet regularly with other P2P teams to understand current P2P process and identify any posts which require additional training.
- Work closely with training counterparts in GTPC UK to ensure training materials are aligned.
- Work closely with other teams such as HR Payroll, Procurement, and Finance Hub to keep up to date on key initiatives.
3. Continuous Improvement
- Prepare and send KPI reports to Posts monthly. Report areas of difficulties across posts to the Head of Customer Engagement recommending action to be taken and implement any agreed measures.
- Promote and encourage innovation within the team fostering a positive change culture.
- Commit at least 5 days each year for job shadowing, rotations, attending meetings and trainings.
4. Other Responsibilities
- Support 3-4 very small British Embassies/High Commissions in getting their suppliers paid by raising requisitions on their behalf.
- Support Payments Team with banking approvals.

- Experience of presenting full training or conference to a large audience
- Experience in designing and preparing training materials using Microsoft applications, specifically PowerPoint

Working Patterns:
Hybrid work setup (WFH and office-based), 36 hours per week operating hours. Regular working hours 10:00 – 19:00
Other Information:
This job requires possible overseas travels for regional trainings, including the need to occasionally work unsocial hours (including late nights) to provide training to Embassies/High Commissions in different time zones.
Employment offers are subject to successful clearance of pre-employment checks. Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy Manila is subject to Terms and Conditions of Service according to local Philippine employment law.

All candidates must be legally able to work and reside in the country of the vacancy with the correct visa/work permit status or demonstrate eligibility to obtain the relevant permit. Employees who are not liable to pay local income tax on their Mission salary may have their salaries reduced by the equivalent local income tax amount.
