JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Global Change Manager will lead change management for a new Global Priority Project called Partner of Choice. This project will design, develop and implement CARE’s ambition towards a locally led organization becoming the preferred and valued partner to civil society, governments and private sector. The project covers work within two strategic interventions within locally led: Country Office Leadership & Culture + Enabling Procedures. The role will primarily be responsible for Country Office Leadership & Culture and Country Offices will be key collaborators.
For the whole project, the role will be responsible for developing change impact analysis, communication and engagement plans and change plans and deliver change management interventions, as well as ensuring leadership alignment required to support phases of the transformation journey.
This role will be required to work in close partnership with internal comms to develop and deliver communications to explain the transformation narrative to build buy in from various stakeholder groups.
S/he will have a proven track record of successful change management and supporting the delivery of major projects in regard to business processes and systems within a large and complex international organization
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership alignment and stakeholder engagement
- Develop stakeholder analysis and ensure that it feeds into the development of change and comms planning. Country offices and partners already identifed as stakeholders.
- Develop leadership alignment approaches and a broader stakeholder engagement plan, and ensure their effective delivery to achieve buy-in and support of projects.
- Summarize change management material to support the engagements – such as a Change Impact Analysis and the Change Plan.
Change impact assessment and change planning
- Develop detailed change and impact analyses to identify the difference between current and future states for all three Workstreams, and ensure that all people, process and system changes are documented, understood and effectively communicated.
- Define a Change Approach to ensure that the desired changes are delivered effectively and in a sustainable way.
- Develop detailed Change Plans which capture all necessary activities at project and country level to manage the change process
Project communication and engagement
- Partner with key strategic initiatives’ sponsors and leads to design and implement robust communication plans ensuring overall organizational alignment. Provide strategic counsel as needed to drive further alignment, reduce resistance, and accelerate adoption of priority projects.
- This will include anticipating needs, spotting emerging challenges and identifying/developing influencers to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders in the right ways at the right times.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Master’s degree in a related field (Communications/Journalism/Marketing, organizational development, change management, etc.) or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- 5-7 years’ practical experience in change management and communications of large scale and complex transformational change initiatives
- Experienced in leading change management in organizational change projects
- Experienced of working across a project lifecycle to deliver change management oversight and interventions
- A deep understanding of organizational dynamics and culture, and the ability to navigate political landscapes
- Experience working in a global organization, with knowledge of cultural differences
- Strong problem solving and analytics background
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Engaging as well as assertive, influencing and negotiating.
