Purpose
- To support the work of the UNDP Serbia Communications unit, particularly in the area of digital transformation, skills for the future and support to public administration in digitalization.
Objective
- To contribute to enhanced reach and quality of the UNDP Serbia communications and advocacy activities.
Background Information
- The Communications unit of the UNDP Serbia Office in Belgrade, Serbia seeks to enlist a full-time intern to support communications and digital media activities.
- The intern will support the Communications unit in preparing content for digital channels, organizing public events, and overall communications activities of the UNDP projects as necessary
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the overall guidance of the UNDP Serbia Communications Analyst, the Intern will be expected to provide support for the following tasks:
- Provide operational support to the activities of UNDP Serbia overall and under the project/portfolio, including logistic and administrative support to on-line trainings, workshops, conferences and other public events;
- Provide support to communication activities, including: update and reporting related to UNDP Serbia website, traditional and social media (drafting of text content and visuals), maintaining media contacts data base
- Identify regional and international sources of data to compare info on Serbia with countries of the region, EU, and the world;
- Attend conferences and events, help with their preparation, ensure invitations sending, logistical organisation, etc.
- Perform any other duties within the scope of the project/portfolio, as required;
- When required facilitate effective communications and information management support and provide executive support to the senior management;
Required Skills and Experience
Applicants to the UNDP internship programme must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements:
- Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme (such as a master’s programme, or higher);
- Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (such as bachelor’s degree or equivalent);
- Have recently graduated with a university degree (as defined in (a) and (b) above) and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation;
- Be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program and undertake the internship as part of this program.
- Field of study: marketing, communications, journalism, graphic design, philology, political science or other related fields
- Experience in managing social media accounts, especially Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, as well as experience with LinkedIn, which will be an advantage.
- Command of basic Microsoft applications (MS Word, Excel, PPt), experience in using social media platforms would be an advantage.
Language skills:
- Excellent knowledge and fluency in English and Serbian language.
