NATURE AND SCOPE
Under the supervision of the Health, Safety and Athletics Coordinator, the Student Life Counselor – Athletics administers and promotes the College’s sports programs, ensuring a safe and enriching environment for students, and providing support in helping the students achieving a balanced and holistic approach to their education, through sports and recreational activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures the organization of all intercollegiate sports
- Handles all required equipment’s, uniforms, and logistics related to sports activities (e.g. transportation, orders)
- Provides basic onboarding training to new athletics personnel (coaches) and supports recruitment when required or needed
- Ensures compliance is followed by athletic therapy providers, according to RSEQ guidelines
- Provides active participation in and promotion of College Athletics during institutional events (e.g. Student Orientation, Open House, etc.) and any other events as required
- Handles the organization of the annual sports banquet
- Animates and organizes the intramural program, related activities and tournaments, ensuring required equipment and responding to medical emergencies
- Ensures an accurate update and tracking of the sports budget and reports accordingly as required
- Works in close collaboration with Physical Resources Team as well as with other college departments
- Acts as a resource person to all sports clubs and individuals interested in developing sports-related activities
- Acts as the College representative for all home games
- Represents the College at RSEQ and/or CCAA meetings and other organizations when required

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor degree in an appropriate field of specialization
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in coaching, athletics, or recreation field
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Bilingual in English and French
- CPR and first aid certified
