Junior Professional Associates – Program Description

The Junior Professionals Associate Program (JPA) offers an exceptional opportunity for recent graduates to embark on a professional journey, providing a three-year contract with valuable work experience within a diverse and dynamic environment and the potential of field work experience. The program is an excellent platform to sharpen your existing skills and to develop new ones, all while gaining a profound understanding of the challenges associated with reducing poverty and fostering shared prosperity on a livable planet.

The following are minimum requirements to be eligible for the JPA program: 

•Be 32 years of age or younger 

•Hold a bachelor’s degree 

•Be fluent in English 

The JPA program at the World Bank is a highly competitive initiative. The Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidential Unit (VPU) enables the World Bank Group to achieve its mission of ending extreme poverty and boost shared prosperity on a livable planet by delivering transformative information and technologies to its staff working in over 150+ locations. Specific Unit Description – ITSCC

ITSCC unit seeks a highly motivated AI and Data engineer to leverage advanced data analytics and machine learning capabilities to analyze structured and unstructured data for various product streams in the unit. The candidate will use AI and machine learning techniques to develop applications and systems that can help increase efficiency, drive insights, improve productivity and help business partners make informed decisions.  

 

Duties and Responsibilities

•Analyze structured and unstructured data from multiple sources to generate business insights. 

•Work closely with business and technical team members to design AI and data solutions. 

•Develop, maintain, and monitor data systems and pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes. 

•Understand business processes and build custom AI models to automate manual tasks.  

•Analyze and organize data, interpret trends and patterns, conduct complex data analysis, prepare data for prescriptive and predictive modeling. 

•Develop AI enabled analytical tools, algorithms, and prototypes. 

•Apply NLP, AI, and ML techniques to data. 

•Build and optimize models and algorithms using machine learning techniques.  

 

Selection Criteria

•Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills, ability to convey ideas and technical solutions to different user groups. 

•Excellent problem-solving skills, result oriented, innovative, and creative in seeking solutions. 

•Meticulous attention to detail 

•Analytical and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage tasks as part of a high performing team. 

•Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team within a multi-cultural environment. 

•Ability to seek knowledge required to complete assignments and share such knowledge with team members. 

•The ability to meet deadlines and adhere to agreed-upon timelines 

•Knowledge of Python, Java, C++, or Scala and other big data technologies  

•Understand data security best practices and data privacy regulations. 

•Working Knowledge of AI/ML tools and patterns
