Position Description

Summary**:**

InterAction is soliciting Expression of Interest (EoI) from consultants to conduct review, editing, and proofreading of up to three publications as described below.

Background

InterAction is developing three publications, an advocacy brief on housing, land, and property; a case study compendium on local actor shelter assistance programs and projects; and a report on the barriers to operationalizing the Settlements Approach ad lessons learned from those who have operationalized the approach.

Expected activities and deliverables

  • Clearly understand the objectives and target audience, familiarize oneself with the editing processes, InterAction’s style sheet, and branding standards (style sheet and branding guidelines will be provided).
  • Provide advice on the format for each document prior to drafting stage, including a joint discussion with graphics consultant.
  • Prepare and agreed style sheet as needed to promote consistent terminology and formatting throughout the documents.
  • Ensure clarity, consistency and flow within each publication.
  • Carefully review and rectify grammatical and formatting errors.
  • Maintain regular communication with InterAction’s focal point, and Comms team when required.
  • Ensure that the editorial approach reflects InterAction’s Shelter, Settlements, and related humanitarian sectoral stakeholders’ input (InterAction will coordinate consultation and feedback)>

Qualifications

  • Familiar with plain language editing.
  • Familiar with humanitarian principles and terminology.

Period of Performance

It is expected the work will extend over a period of a few months. Consultants should be available from September 2024-January2024. Work is to be carried out remotely. It is expected that the level of effort will increase towards the end of the time frame noted.
