The Scope
As a key member of the Regional team in Latin America, the Communications Manager will be a strategic business partner of the regional leadership team; developing and curating content to build the regional FSC narrative; understand FSC’s audiences, plan and create content to create value for those audicenes, actively engage with FSC’s audiences, analyze the value generation, and improve the overall communication efforts to meet FSC’s International objectives. The role has a dotted line to the Global Director of Communications and Media(Bon) and FSC Global MarComms community.
Main Roles & Responsibilities
- Build a communication and audience engagement operational plan.
- Create regional online content strategy for FSC Latin America webpage, social media channels, and newsletters in strong in collaboration with FSC’s regional Network and International Communication Unit, to create value for FSC regional audiences (membership, network partners, key accounts and others).
- Lead storytelling projects, including identifying potential stories, brief development, story gathering, photo and video production, writing, and publication.
- Actively contribute to the creation, edition, and design of content for FSC regional audiences.
- Proactively assess the effectiveness of the campaigns and make recommendations to improve based on goals and objectives.
- Additional tasks as agreed with the Regional Director for Latin America.
Your profile
- University degree in communications, journalism, digital communications,, or any related field. Masters degree is preferred
Working Experience, Style and Skills:
- At least 6 years experience in a leadership role developing and implementing communication strategies.
- Experience working with digital and traditional media channels.
- Experience in developing and disseminating content for social media channels and engaging online audiences.
- Experience in managing an in-house briefing and production process: creating detailed schedules, setting deadlines, and distributing work between creative resource, as well as monitoring, prioritising, and making adjustments in line with workflow.
- Knowledge of communications metrics and reporting tools.
- Entrepreneur, team player, energetic, flexible, collaborative, proactive, and solution-oriented attitude to work
Languages:
- Fluency in English and Spanish (spoken and written).
- Proficiency in French is an advantage
Digital Skills:
- High level of competence with Microsoft Office suite.
- Competency in adobe professional suite.
- Competency in design and editing tools e.g. InDesign, Canva.
- Social media monitoring tools and MailChimp or similar newsletter creating systems.
The Fine Print
- Location: Lima, Peru.
- Working Hours: Full time – 40 hours per week.
- Duration of Employment: Initial 2 year contract with the intend to change to open-ended.
- Starting Date: As soon as possible.
- Travel: Sporadic travel is required.
