  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, system, and knowledge.
  • Responsible for supporting the Associate Director with the development and profitability of the business unit in the assigned region through sales origination, relationship management and client servicing of the portfolio.
  • Coordinates and executes FI trade finance transactions, monitoring the portfolio, exposure and maximizing revenue from financial institutions in assigned territory and meeting business development and referral targets.
  • Manage FI deposit portfolio in line with Group Treasury’s liquidity requirements and in close collaboration with GTB Portfolio Management
  • Contribute to business development in line with the Group’s strategy by focusing on core markets and core solutions across the network. Assist with the identification and execution of new products and services.
  • Promote referrals to/from other parts of the Scotiabank Group, from an overall client coverage perspective, encompassing all Bank products and service offerings, across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Ensure the highest level of customer service is provided to customers, financial institutions, Scotiabank branch/subsidiary/affiliates and their clients, and all other related stakeholders to deliver for Scotiabank’s primary customers in both our core markets as well as in the region.
  • Compliance with TF & CB Policies and Procedures by understanding the Bank’s risk appetite and culture in all day-to-day activities,and maintaining knowledge and understanding of GTB & GBM Products and Services, keeping abreast of market trends, competitors’ products/initiatives and other areas affecting trade finance, deposits, cash management and correspondent banking.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Code of Conduct.
  • Contributes to a high-performance environment, fostering an inclusive work environment; supporting the vison/values/business strategy for the team.

Dimensions

  • Origination predominantly focused on European markets.
  • Products: Traditional trade finance, FI deposits and correspondent banking.
  • Requires understanding of Treasury and Capital markets products
  • Financial Dimensions: Contribute to total team asset/balance growth and revenue generation

Education / Experience

  • Experience of marketing and communicating externally to clients, preferable within a transactional banking and FI environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to communicate in English is essential and one other language (including Spanish) would be desirable.
  • University degree in business, finance or related discipline is preferred.
