About the role:
Reporting to the Team Leader, Getaway House, you will be responsible for providing support for children with disabilities in areas such as personal care, health and well-being, accessing the local community, learning independent living skills and implementation of all support plans.
You will create and maintain an environment that empowers children and young people with disabilities and ensure their health and safety, as well as plan meals/menus in accordance with food safety guidelines to meet nutritional, cultural and religious needs. You will also participate and cooperate with the Respite Coordinator in consultative processes to improve health and safety.

This is an entry level position, so experience is not required! Please note that the following compliance documents are required if successful for the role:
- Current Australian Driver’s License.
- Current First Aid and CPR.
- NDIS screening clearance – or willing to obtain.
- Working With Children Check (Employee).
- Qualification in Disability, Community Services, Social Work or equivalent (desirable)

Shortlisted applicants will also be required to undertake the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission online Worker Orientation training module called ‘Quality, Safety and You’ prior to attending induction. This is a pre-employment requirement and if not completed, employment will not proceed.
