Job details: 37 hours per week, Temporary fixed term until 31st March
2026


We are currently seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual to support the
Council’s commercial decarbonisation journey. 

Reporting to the Principal Decarbonisation Officer, this is one of several key roles tasked
with delivering Rotherham Council’s ambitious climate change targets to reach net zero by 2030
through the implementation of corporate energy efficiency and decarbonisation projects.

In this critical role you will identify and implement technical property related
decarbonisation projects and monitor, analyse and report upon energy management system data to
identify opportunities for improvement. 

We are therefore looking for a candidate with excellent technical, communication and project
management skills to deliver the Council’s net zero targets throughout its operational estate
and to develop relationships with core Council services and stakeholders.

will be based at Riverside House but includes the ability to work at home for several days of
the month. Travel across the Borough to events/meetings and occasional out of hours working
will also be required.

This post will have access to the Public Services Network, if successful you will be

Until 31st March 2026 employees paid at Band D and above are subject to a temporary pay
reduction of 1.15% spread out by means of a monthly deduction from each pay period over the
full financial year. In recognition of implementing this temporary measure, those who
experience a pay reduction will be awarded three additional days leave (pro rata for
part-time).
