‘SPREAD: Peace & Resilience’ is an EU-funded project designed to prevent and mitigate conflicts, reduce and manage the risks associated with natural disasters, and build resilience within cross-border communities in Ethiopia, Kenya, and South Sudan. The goal of the project is to enhance the effectiveness of conflict prevention and mitigation, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), and management and resilience-building in cross-border communities in the border region of the Karamoja Cluster.

DCA Kenya invites qualified service providers (consultancy firms/companies only and not individuals) to respond to this advertisement.

Consultancy services needed:

Market Assessment and Value Chain Identification, Mapping, and Analysis aim to map out existing and potential agricultural (crops and livestock), fisheries and aquaculture, and other natural resource-based value chains that can be promoted within the borderland regions of South Omo/ Ethiopia, Turkana North and West in Kenya, and Eastern Equatoria in South Sudan), market systems in the three sub-counties, and based on tangible variables develop an analysis of the most viable value chains to be promoted that will have a multiplier effect across all actors in a market system.

The geographical area of the assignment is Turkana North, Kibish, and Lokichoggio Sub Counties, Turkana County, Kenya.

Provide the following information (mandatory documents)

  • Brief company profile with the company’s brief background, name, contact details, and physical address.
  • Company’s statutory documents (Certificate of registration or incorporation, CR12, KRA Pin, and a Valid Compliance certificate)
  • A summary of the skills and experience of the proposed lead consultant and the consultant(s) showing relevant previous assignments and education level. Maximum, 3 pages.
  • At least two recommendation/reference letters.

Below are the required education level and years of experience.

  • Relevant master’s degree(s) in the social sciences, business/commerce, project management, development studies, political science, or any other related area of study.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in similar assignments.
  • Experience in evaluating youth empowerment projects.
  • Proficiency in using multiple research methodologies.
