About Role
The Head of Disability Support reports directly to the General Manager- Children, Families and Disability Support and is primarily responsible for leading and driving the operations of the programs delivery of Local Area Coordination (LAC) services to empower individuals and assist in building inclusive communities. The breadth of responsibility will be across program delivery; community engagement, stakeholder management, relationship building; compliance, risk management, sustainability, and effective implementation of strategy.
The role will have significant operational delegations and decision-making accountabilities. The strategic priorities of focus will be to ensure the program is sustainable and delivered in alignment to the NDIS’s and SSI’s visions of supporting participants to ensure meaningful social and economic participation and to assist individuals and families reach their potential; is commercially viable and operationally efficient.
About You
Supporting the overall strategic goals and providing operational advice to the General Manager, you will work as part of the senior leadership team and move the program forward whilst ensuring robust governance, operational excellence, financial management, risk tracking, overall sustainability, and future growth.
You will have a demonstrated track record and passion for leading, developing and managing teams to achieve positive community and social outcomes together with social change, as well as highly developed skills across advocacy, policy development and consultation.
You will be a champion in shaping and supporting a respectful, non-judgmental, inclusive culture that promotes and upholds human rights and maintains an environment of trust, transparency, and accountability.

Essential Criteria
- Proven ability to establish and build strategic partnerships and achieve common desired outcomes with a wide range of stakeholders
- Minimum 5 years’ experience leading a large team in a complex, highly regulated service environment
- Financial monitoring and budgeting of multimillion-dollar programs/services, and prioritising allocation of resources to meet organisational goals
- Experience in continuous improvement; originating action to improve existing conditions and processes; identifying improvement opportunities, generating ideas, and implementing solutions.
- Experience in championing and shaping a respectful, non-judgmental, inclusive culture that promotes and upholds human rights at all-times and maintains a culture of transparency and accountability
- Track record of delivering positive community and social outcomes with demonstrated strategic planning, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to meet tight timeframes and the capacity to manage workflows on multiple projects concurrently.
- Proven ability to communicate financial information to senior leaders, Boards and non-financial stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds
- Holistic and inclusive leadership style that exemplifies servant-leadership
- A strong work ethic underpinned by resilience and perseverance
- Exceptional emotional intelligence enabling the bringing together of Mission, Strategic Priorities and organisational culture across employees, members, volunteers and the broader community
