We are now looking for a Programme Lead to make an impact with our UK Energy Team on a
permanent, full-time basis.

The Role 

As a Programme Leader at E3G, you will spearhead our efforts to achieve the deep and rapid
decarbonisation of the energy system. 

Aiming to meet the UK’s climate targets, you will ensure a prosperous green future by focusing
on securing high-ambition energy policy outcomes and leveraging political opportunities, whilst
promoting a just transition in power, housing, and industry. 

Developing the UK political strategy, you will build cross-party support, maintain networks
with parliamentarians, NGOs, industry, civil servants, funders, journalists, and experts, lead
political engagement and achieve our organisational energy priorities. 

You will manage a team of six staff members, fostering a supportive work environment and
promoting positive team dynamics, as well as collaborating with colleagues across various UK
programmes, including sustainable finance and climate diplomacy. 

Additionally, you will: 

  • Represent the team externally
  • Contribute thought leadership
  • Ensure UK progress is leveraged globally

About You 

To be considered as a Programme Lead, you will need: 

  • Experience of delivering ambitious strategic outcomes for a portfolio of energy campaign or
    policy work
  • Experience of working on UK political influencing to achieve policy outcomes, with strong
    political connections
  • Team management experience, including line management, delegation, team building and
    performance management, with a strong regard to wellbeing
  • Experience of budget management, project management and programme management
  • Fundraising experience
  • Policy expertise related to energy issues
  • A strong network of contacts working across energy-related issues in the UK
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
