owdoin Colleges Department of Government invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty appointment in International Relations at the Assistant Professor level, beginning July 1, 2025. The position subfield is open, with a preference for candidates whose research involves one or more of the following: human rights, international law, or international organizations. The teaching load is two courses per semester. The successful candidate will be expected to teach Introduction to International Relations in rotation, as well as courses in their own specialities; the ability to teach International Law is welcome. A PhD in International Relations or similar is expected by the date of appointment. We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education.
