Job description

Energy & Carbon Reduction Advisor

Term: 6 months with the potential to extend or to become permanent.

Location: Home—based – must be in, or within easy reach of Birmingham, Black Country,
Staffordshire, Telford.
You will be required to attend the offices in Rugby for 1 – 2
weeks initially for training and team building and may be required to attend for specific
meetings and further training.

We are looking for an experienced energy & carbon advisor to help deliver a UK Government
funded contract. You will be required to visit client sites in the region to conduct energy
efficiency reviews, analyse energy and carbon data, and write detailed and accurate reports
with costed recommendations to reduce energy and carbon emissions. Your base will be from home,
with the full support of the team in the offices in Rugby, Warwickshire.

You will be working with an established and expanding Low and Net Zero Carbon Consultancy, with
over 30 years of experience working with the UK Government and associated large funding bodies.

Key Responsibilities:

Conducting energy efficiency reviews at clients’ sites

Analysing and presenting relevant energy data

Writing and delivering energy audit reports that demonstrate a high level of technical
awareness of engineering and efficiency services, energy management, and low/net zero carbon
strategies with cost-effective technical solutions that increase the operational and energy
efficiency of the client.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in Energy Efficiency and Carbon accounting.
  • Experience in conducting onsite energy efficiency reviews at a broad range of business
    premises.
  • Highly professional and adaptable communications skills – you must be comfortable and
    confident calling and meeting clients.
  • a sound knowledge of energy management measures and products–including but not limited to
    building fabric, lighting, heating, refrigeration, renewable technology, Solar PV feasibility,
    compressors.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical background
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Ability to write clear and accurate reports with a high level of accuracy
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and high attention to detail
  • A team player with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of ESOS, ISO50001, and compliance such as CCA (desirable).
  • Knowledge of Environmental Management Systems (EMS) (desirable).
  • Own car and clean UK driving license. (Business mileage and mobile phone expenses are
    covered).

Qualifications:

Ideally, you will have a degree in one of the following areas

  • Degree (2:1) in Engineering, Maths, Environmental Science, Geography.
  • Candidates without a degree but with considerable appropriate experience will also be
    considered, especially if that experience is in engineering with manufacturing processes and
    facilities

Mileage allowance.

Job Type: 6 months fixed term but with the potential for extension or move to permanent.
