Job description

My client is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead multidisciplinary project teams in delivering development and design projects profitably. This role involves taking responsibility for the technical, contractual, financial, and program performance of these projects while providing outstanding customer service. Additionally, this position includes mentoring and training other team members. The role is primarily office-based, with travel required for meetings, workshops, and site visits.This role could be based out of multiple office locations across the UK in the London, Derby, York, Hull and Leeds areas.Key Responsibilities and Accountability’s:Project Management:– Lead and coordinate a multidisciplinary project team to deliver projects on time and within budget.– Oversee Health & Safety (H&S) and Construction Design and Management (CDM) for projects.– Address and fulfil client needs.– Manage contracts and variations, minimising company risk through contract negotiations.– Oversee the invoicing process.– Engage and manage subcontractors as necessary.– Plan and lead site visit and survey strategies.– Prepare and manage project programs.Tendering:– Develop new client relationships and opportunities.– Lead new project tenders or quotes, including preparing tender documents, costs, and programs.People Management/Staff Development:– Mentor and develop assigned direct reports, providing feedback on team needs.– Perform line management duties and approvals.– Lead team meetings.– Conduct monthly one-on-one meetings.– Conduct annual staff appraisals.Quality Systems and Health & Safety:– Report on key project performance metrics.– Ensure all Quality, Environmental, and Safety Documentation is prepared and issued per company procedures.– Maintain documentation to comply with company procedures and health and safety legislation.– Liaise with the document controller to keep all documentation up-to-date.– Undertake risk assessments, safety audits, and monitoring in line with relevant safety legislation and procedures.General:– Collaborate with other departments as necessary.– Perform reasonable duties as directed by the Directors.– Work at other client or company offices as required.– Contribute to the company’s Health and Safety culture.– Deliver exceptional customer service.– Build outstanding working relationships with teams and clients.– Core activities take place in an office environment.– PPE will be provided for safe work execution.– Attend site briefings or Principal Contractor site inductions before entering site environments and conduct site-specific risk assessments.Qualifications and Experience:Qualifications:– Suitable engineering or town planning-related degree or equivalent.Experience:– Strong relevant transmission and distribution design or delivery project experience.– Development Consent Order (or similar) or linear infrastructure planning experience is desirable but not essential.– Overhead Line (OHL), cable, or substation design experience is desirable but not essential.– Professional chartership is desirable but not essential.– Knowledge of NEC contracts is desirable but not essential.If you are a highly motivated professional looking to lead challenging projects and make a significant impact, apply now to join my client’s team!We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity in our company.
