tendersglobal.net

The Senior Conservation Operations Specialist is a vital, core member of the Wildlife Restoration (WRF) Team. Work to build WRF’s organizational capacity, resource base, and impact on America’s park wildlife as you contribute your talents and experience to ensure WRF achieves conservation successes.  Play an important part in meeting the WRF mission, which is to increase park wildlife population viability both ex situ and in situ, working closely with National Parks, Wildlife Refuges, Marine Sanctuaries and Forests, zoo and aquarium partners, and park gateway communities. To help park wildlife survive, WRF must operate effectively and efficiently and generate resources that enable measurable, boots-on-the-ground and fins-in-the-water field work and community stewardship results.

The Operations Specialist works closely with the (1) WRF President; (2) WRF Board Treasurer; (3) WRF Board Finance & Audit Committee; and (4) pro bono advisors at Marcum LLP and Arnold & Porter. Vital duties are to perform bookkeeping tasks using QuickBooks, preparing financial reports for the WRF board, and help draft key documents (e.g., 990 EZ, 1099s, and some state charity registrations) to ensure they can be reviewed with ample lead time prior to submission. A modest stipend is available depending on need and performance. Proposed duties are:

Recordkeeping

  • Organize receipts and issue invoices.
  • Conduct bookkeeping tasks using QuickBooks.
  • Monitor receivables.

Budget Management

  • Assist with creating and monitoring annual budgets and produce QuickBooks reports for WRF executive.
  • Assist in analyzing financials to help management and understanding of financial statuses.

WRF requests a dedicated 10-16 hours per week (flexible schedule) and an agreement to work with WRF for 4 months. The Senior Operations Specialist should be a self-starter, ambitious, productive, and dedicated to WRF’s mission. Hours are flexible within the week, but participation in meetings with WRF’s executive and board members are important. A monthly stipend is available for a committed team member.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject required; CPA Certification preferred.
  • Seasoned experience in QuickBooks and accounting measures.
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel and developing budgets and reports.
  • Passion for wildlife and conservation required!
