HR Specialist – Compensation and Benefits Policies

About this position

We are looking for an experienced professional with solid analytical skills to join the Compensation, Benefits and HR Services Division (HRD/COB), reporting to the Compensation and Benefits Policies Team Leader.

 

The team analyzes, designs, and administers compensation, payroll, and benefits programs for international and national staff assigned to Headquarters and the Country Offices. The organization’s Human Resources Services Center, responsible for the administration of key benefits program, also reports through this Division.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in, benefits, mobility, and related topics developing technical analyses and recommendations for benefits programs, participating in the development of white papers and written documents, drafting, and conducting presentations, interfacing with management at all levels.

 

  • Working collaboratively with other HRD teams, the Legal Department, and other relevant stakeholders, become the technical expert in the exercise of drafting new or updates to global benefits policies, regulations, and accompanying guidelines and procedures for Headquarters and Country Offices in the region,.

 

 

  • Provide support and advice on case management for high profile and/or complex cases.
  • Guide HR Business Partners and the HR Service Center on the administration and application of benefit policies.

 

 

  • Work closely with the HRD Crisis Management Team, as needed, to liaison and help coordinate measures to attend needs resulting from emerging crisis.
  • Review and improve Bank-wide benefits related communications, including information in the HRD website.
  • Mentor Analysts and more junior team members on relevant processes and best practices.

 

What you’ll need

  • Education: Master’s degree or equivalent in human resources management, business administration, economics, accounting, organizational development, or other relevant fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
  • Experience: At least 4 years of dynamic work experience relevant to the duties and accountabilities of the position.

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of compensation and benefits policies and programs in organizations with an international scope of operations. Demonstrated thorough understanding of compensation-related policies and proven experience guiding other stakeholders on their application.

  • Languages: Proficiency in English is required.

 

Additional knowledge of one of the other Bank’s official languages (Spanish, French, or Portuguese) is preferable.

Requirements

  • Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. We may offer assistance with relocation and visa applications for you and your eligible dependents.
  • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

Type of contract and duration

  • International staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
