Job Title: Senior Supply Chain Manager (Construction)Location: Preston; We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.Salary: Up to £80,000 depending on experienceWhat you’ll be doing:

  • Developing effective sourcing strategies, aligned with the Infrastructure Construction Strategy, whilst identifying risks, issues, and liabilities within procurement and contract strategies
  • Delivering effective management and guidance, creating an environment to allow the team to succeed, along with ensuring health, safety, and wellbeing on the team
  • Leading the sourcing and contracting procurement process, inclusive of tender pack development, evaluation, and award
  • Managing Framework Agreements, commercial performance of contractors, and relationships with both strategic suppliers and internal and external stakeholders to a senior level
  • Negotiating and finalising contracts with the external supply chain, providing cost and pricing expertise, and undertaking contract closure activities
  • Deploying supplier relationship management tools, ensuring supplier and sourcing reviews are carried out, and that suppliers are monitored and managed
  • Providing input into the bidding activity such that the budget is met in consistency with the business goals

Your skills and experiences:Essential:

  • Significant experience working in supply chain within the construction industry
  • Detailed knowledge of JCT and NEC Construction contracts
  • Understanding of business and procurement approaches, techniques, processes, policy, and strategy
  • Experience of contract and supplier performance management
  • Notable experience in management and leadership of a team

Desirable:

  • Client side experience
  • MRICS qualification or similar
  • MCIPS
  • Experience in public sector/regulated environments
