About the role

As a key member of The Benevolent Society’s Learning and Capability team, you’ll harness your hands-on practice experience to deliver transformative learning solutions. Your role will be pivotal in enhancing the skills of our frontline staff to ensure our services are person-centred, connected, effective, and safe, all while upholding evidence-based practices and The Benevolent Society’s Professional Governance Framework.

You’ll focus on critical areas like suicide prevention, safety intervention, and trauma, with frequent travel across NSW and interstate (QLD & SA). Duties

  • Deliver onboarding and ongoing learning activities in multiple formats, including face to face, virtual training, workshops, individual coaching and support to staff across TBS.
  • Contribute to the design and development of learning activities through research, consultation, and practice insights.
  • Work with the Learning and Capability team to create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc) that engages the audience and enhances the learning experience to increase application to practice.
  • Support the development and delivery of resources to support a program of training, coaching and staff development in key practice areas identified by the Learning and Capability team.
  • Support the Learning and Capability team to identify and assess current and future practice-based learning and development needs and priorities across practice in TBS in consultation with clients, leaders, frontline staff and other stakeholders.
  • Track and report on completion of training
  • Develop and maintain communication strategies to enable teams to understand their requirements for training and how and when they can access it.
  • Consult with Operations to gain insight and feedback to ensure continuous quality improvements of L&D courses.
  • Manage and support course enrolments and completions in the Learning Portal.

Note: It is a requirement of this role that you are able to travel frequently across NSW, QLD and SA to deliver training to staff.

Skills and experience

We want you to be successful in your new role! This means you’ll have:

  • Demonstrated experience in training delivery; Certificate IV in Training & Assessment or relevant qualifications is advantageous.
  • Qualification in Human Services or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience working within workplace training roles or delivering training to a wide variety of audiences, including senior staff.
  • Minimum 3 yrs experience in service delivery within child, youth & family, aged care or disability services.
  • Experience with blended modes of learning design.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated application of adult learning theory.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated application of instructional design skills in creating training.
  • Positive, agile nature to adapt to a constantly changing environment while delivering.
  • Knowledge of the Resilience Practice Framework is desirable but not essential.
