About the role

This is a permanent full-time opportunity working Monday – Friday between 8am- 4pm and will be based at Oatlands (North Parramatta) with travel across the greater Western Sydney region.

Join our dynamic team in Western Sydney, where we provide essential community-based outreach and recovery-oriented support to individuals aged 16 and over. We work to empower individuals with varying mental health concerns to achieve greater independence and improve their overall quality of life. 

About you in the role

  • Deliver individual recovery-based support and help consumers navigate essential services such as NDIS applications, Centrelink payments, and DCJ housing.
  • Engage in capacity-building activities and that promote recovery and resilience.
  • Support with building knowledge and capacity to improve physical and mental health of consumers.
  • Manage your time effectively between community outreach and administrative tasks, ensuring thorough documentation and follow-up.
  • Receive guidance and mentorship from a Senior Mental Health Support Worker.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop individual support plans with consumers.
  • Assist with the monitoring and review of consumer care plans, in partnership with carers/family members/clinicians’/ community organisations as appropriate. 

About You

  • Minimum Certificate IV in Mental Health or Community Services
  • A current full driver’s license and able to use own vehicle for visits (not to transport consumers)
  • Passionate About Mental Health: You have a genuine commitment to supporting individuals on their recovery journey.
  • Strong Communication Skills: You can effectively engage with clients and collaborate with team members.
  • Understanding of the Recovery Framework: Experience with or a desire to learn about recovery-oriented approaches
  • Risk Assessment Ability: You can identify and respond to potential risks, ensuring the safety and well-being of clients.
  • Administrative Proficiency: Comfortable with the balance of community work and the administrative demands of the role.
