Please note: this position is paid on an hourly basis and limited to 1500 hours per calendar year. The salary range for Scientific Aid is $17.73 – $21.04 per hour.
The State Water Resources Control Board’s Los Angeles Region has an opening for a Scientific Aid in the Land Disposal Unit. The position is at 320 W. 4th Street, Suite 200, Los Angeles, CA 90013.
Duties:
The Scientific Aid assists Los Angeles Water Board staff with coordinating file reviews and public record requests with internal staff, consulting firms, legal professionals, and the general public; case file management including maintenance of electronic data bases and physically moving and organizing file boxes; collection and review of environmental and water quality data in State Water Board’s GeoTracker database, CIWQS, mail-outs, and other assigned duties not described herein, but within the range of knowledge and abilities expected for a Scientific Aid.

Candidates must possess essential personal qualifications including integrity, initiative, dependability, good judgment, the ability to work cooperatively with others, and the ability to perform the assigned duties of the class.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.
