Weyerhaeuser has a unique opportunity for a candidate with strong leadership and technical capabilities. The Harvest and Transportation Manager is a key leadership role with a focus on planning, harvest, transportation, and contract administration across approximately 400,000 acres of Central Maine Timberland. As the Harvest and Transportation Manager, you will be responsible for leading safety and business improvements for all operations on this land base. You will closely collaborate with multiple internal and external stakeholders to achieve safety, environmental, silviculture, quality, and production goals. Additionally, you will lead a dedicated team of 5-7 individuals and will be a critical part of the New England Region, reporting directly to the Area Manager. This is a salaried, exempt position based in the Greenville, Maine office.
Key Functions
- Exemplify and advance the New England Vision by delivering superior safety and environmental performance, in alignment with Weyerhaeuser’s broader goals and values
- Establish strong working partnerships with all internal and external stakeholders including regulatory agencies, easement holders, industry counterparts, direct reports, loggers, and hauling contractors
- Lead and inspire the team by setting clear goals, mentoring, and managing performance, while providing opportunities for direct reports and other team members to grow and develop
- Identify and execute key opportunities for improvement that will drive the future success of the Greenville Team
- Establish area planning, harvesting and transportation strategies
- Lead and monitor contractor productivity, health tracking and relationships
- Build and forecast harvesting & transportation financial budgets (annually, quarterly, monthly)
- Maintain and mentor Day-Rate Model tools and features with the Greenville Team
- Use and encourage innovation to address system challenges to optimize contractor productivity and internal workflow efficiency
- Fulfill customer commitments and develop strong working relationships with key strategic customers
Qualifications
- Proactive safety leader with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders
- Proven track record of collaborative decision making and relationship building
- Bachelors degree (or higher) in Forestry or related field OR an equivalent in education/experience
- At least 5 years of applicable job experience
- Operational experience in project management and contract administration on a large scale
- Excellent written, oral and presentation skills
- Budgeting and planning skills
- Ability to effectively work and communicate across organizational and functional boundaries
- Demonstrated achievement in leading diverse groups of people
- Understanding of and commitment to meeting customer delivery expectations
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing environments
What We Offer
Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $94,977 – $142,465 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 10% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Retirement: Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.
Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours
