The Division of Drinking Water is recruiting four (4) Water Resource Control Engineers to work in the Field Operations Branch, Glendale Office located at 500 N. Central Ave. Suite 500. Glendale, CA 91203. The Glendale Office is responsible for overseeing the public water systems located in Los Angeles County, the most populous county in the United States, facing a variety of different challenges. Duties:

Under the close supervision of a Senior Water Resource Control Engineer or Senior Sanitary Engineer, the incumbent will perform a variety of engineering work related to public water systems. Duties will include on-site inspection activities including physical inspection of water sources, treatment plants, storage reservoirs, pump stations, and distribution facilities. The position will also be responsible for regulatory surveillance and compliance determination activities including the review of water quality monitoring records, system operational records, and water system operations and monitoring plans. The incumbent will review and prepare reports and recommendations on permit requests for construction or modification of public water system sources, treatment plants, storage reservoirs, and distribution and collection facilities including checking engineering calculations, design drawings, and other engineering documents to assure that water purveyors comply with good engineering practices and legal requirements for supplying drinking water under the California Safe Drinking Water Act.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.
