Context/Reporting line:

Since the 1980s, Iraq has been engulfed in multiple cycles of conflict and recovery. IOM Iraq’s Peacebuilding and Stabilization Division aims to address the drivers of conflict and displacement through contextualized and community-driven social cohesion, mental health and psychosocial support, transitional justice, tribal engagement, legal assistance, community policing, climate security and prevention of violent extremism programming.

 

To ensure compliance with IOM Iraq’s donor requirements and to continue to develop and expand its ongoing programming, IOM Iraq is seeking to recruit a  National Project Development and Reporting Officer.

 

Under the overall supervision of the Head, Peacebuilding and Stabilization Division, the adminstartive supervision of the Head of Sub Office (HoSO) and the direct supervision of the Project Development, Reporting & Grants Management Officer, the successful incumbent will perform the following duties:

 

Core Functions / Responsibilities

  1. Provide inputs for the development of new programmes/projects that respond to emerging trends and priorities, in close coordination with Project Managers, PSD Head of Division and the PSD Project Development, Reporting and Grants Management Officer, in line with donor interests, requirements and IOM’s procedures and Strategic Vision
  2. Consolidate and analyse data on programme implementation and indicators and coordinate with Project Managers, PSD Head of Division and the PSD Project Development, Reporting and Grants Management Officer for the drafting of regular progress reports to be submitted to donors, partners and IOM Regional and Headquarters.
  3. Support fundraising actions by maintaining regular contact with donor relations counterparts, including organising and attending meetings and field site visits, contributing to the development, review and distribution of project funding submissions/proposals and appeals, and compiling information on donor policies and priorities.
  4. Assist in the overall integration of Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning (MEAL) outputs in existing and new projects in partnership and coordination with the MEAL Unit and Program Managers; and support the development of M&E data collection and quality assurance tools for projects or programs.
  5. Assist in coordinating the compilation of reports and papers on IOM strategic approaches and priorities for internal and external distribution; and research, draft and present documents necessary for project development, reporting and donor liaison purposes.
  6. Undertake regular in-country and field visits in Iraq to assist in coordinating, evaluating and improving the planning, implementation and monitoring of assistance projects.
  7. Perform any other duties as assigned.
