CPActive is the advocacy campaign from Cerebral Palsy Alliance, a not-for-profit disability service and research organisation which helps thousands of Australians with cerebral palsy and similar disabilities. The CPActive community brings together people with disability, families, disability workers and allies who are passionate about creating positive, lasting change for people with disability. Our goal is to amplify the voices of lived experience to make sure people with disability have a say on the issues that affect them. CPActive is led by people with lived experience of cerebral palsy who are passionate about making change for their community.
About the role
The CPActive Community Coordinator will play a pivotal role in the coordination of the CPActive community activity, including the CPActive Champion Steering Committee, CPActive Champion network and wider CPActive membership. The Community Coordinator will foster relationships with CPActive Champions, work with the Steering Committee to deliver on CPActive Community initiatives that facilitate effective communication across the CPActive network.
We have two part time positions for 7.6 hours per week and 15.2 hours per week.
Responsibilities of the role (not limited to):
- Organising the Champion Steer Co meetings
- Planning and delivering on CPActive Community events
- Promoting the Champion network to enhance engagement of people with lived experience and collaborating with various CPA departments as stakeholders of our advocacy work
- Working closely with the CPActive Lead and the Community Organiser to deliver impactful communications to the CPActive audience and drive projects aimed at expanding membership engagement, as per our strategic goals
About you:
- Lived experience of cerebral palsy
- Previous experience building partnerships and leading initiatives
- Well-developed written communication skills
- High level organisational and coordination skills, with attention to detail
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to be open minded and flexible, resourceful and strategic
