About the role– Permanent Full-Time– Mount Gambier

In this diverse role you will be responsible for providing management and leadership to all employees and services within the Limestone Coast region. The Area Manager will be crucial to managing positive stakeholder engagement and proactively seek new business and initiatives in collaboration with the Senior Manager.

Baptist Care SA provides 24/7 care as we work with vulnerable and at-risk children, young people and adults with special needs, disability and/or challenging behaviours.

You will also support our Tumbelin program which is an exciting adventure-based experiential-learning program for young people.

Key responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Monitor budgets, undertake reporting and tracking of expenditure.
  • Ensure effective operational management and delivery of services in the Limestone Coast that are client focused, safe, culturally appropriate and meet all legislative and contract requirements.
  • Develop a sustainable workforce plan for the region in line with organisational requirements, ensuring services are adequately staffed with effective coverage of rosters.
  • Support team well-being and facilitate a positive culture.

About you:

As a successful leader you will be at ease in building new relationships and adding value to existing. You will easily land on your feet within a strong team of two reports and supporting three additional coordinators, and work in a close knit community in regional South Australia.

This will be a dynamic role supporting three diverse pathways so experience in community services or relevant industry will be highly regarded. Above all, you share our values and embrace any opportunity to make the lives of South Australia’s most vulnerable better in any way you can.

You will also have the following skills and experience:

  • Relevant tertiary and/or post graduate qualifications and experience in the field of community services with an emphasis on experience in providing care to clients in a residential and community settings.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Experience working with vulnerable and at-risk children, young people and adults with special needs, disability and/or challenging behaviours.
  • Experience in leading teams, performance management of staff.
  • Experience in procurement, budgeting and tracking expenditure.

Specific Requirements:

You will be required to have, or be willing to obtain:

  • A current and valid DHS: Child-Related Employment Screening/ WWCC
  • A current and valid National Police Clearance
  • Training – Child Safe Environments
  • Training – Apply First Aid (min HLTAID012)
  • Approved Psychological Suitability Assessment
  • Ability and willingness to travel within South Australia as required
  • A valid NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Ability to work across a 24/7 roster
  • A valid full South Australian drivers’ license (C Class)
  • A fully insured and roadworthy compliant vehicle (roadworthy check required) is preferable.
