About our Organisation

The Soil Association, formed in 1946, is the only UK charity which works across the spectrum of
human health, the environment and animal welfare. That’s because we cannot tackle these issues
in isolation.

We campaign for change, we support farming innovation, we serve healthy food in communities, we
support and grow the organic market, and we protect forests. We couldn’t do any of this without
our supporters, partners, donors and dedicated staff. We make a difference in the world
where it’s needed the most.

About the Opportunity

Medway Council’s Public Health department has commissioned Soil Association Food for Life (FFL)
to deliver an ambitious programme to work with schools to embed the Food for Life approach to
good food across the borough and drive positive outcomes for public health, the local economy
and environment. The programme is entering its third year and is well integrated in Medway’s
Public Health team. The programme works to inspire and empower school leaders and staff,
caterers, children and families to create and sustain healthy food environments. We are now
looking for a Local Programme Manager to lead the programme delivery, research, planning and
reporting of our programme in Medway.

About You

You will have experience of leading and inspiring change and substantial project/programme
management experience, including: delivering to targets; risk management and adaptation;
managing the contribution of others to your project; and adhering to budgets and deadlines. You
will be passionate about what is on your plate with a desire to share that passion and your
wealth of information with other people so they can make informed choices that benefit
themselves, the local economy and the planet.

Commitment to Safeguarding

The Soil Association and FFL are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all
children, young people, and vulnerable adults that we work with. In accordance
with this commitment we ensure that we follow a thorough and safe recruitment and selection
