Background:
Aid Gate Organization (AGO) is implementing a socio-economic reintegration project aimed at building the capacity of local community members in Sinuni to establish and sustain small businesses. As part of this initiative, AGO is seeking an experienced Business Development Trainer to deliver a comprehensive 10-day training program designed to empower participants with the necessary tools and knowledge to develop and grow their own businesses. This program will target individuals from diverse backgrounds who are looking to either start or expand small enterprises, contributing to the economic development of the community.

Objective of the Training:
The training aims to:

  1. Enhance the entrepreneurial skills of beneficiaries by providing practical knowledge on how to start and manage small businesses.
  2. Equip participants with business planning, financial management, marketing, and customer service skills.
  3. Support beneficiaries in identifying local market opportunities and accessing resources to sustain their business ventures.

Scope of Work:
The Business Development Trainer will play a critical role in empowering the participants to navigate the challenges of business ownership. They will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging, interactive, and practical training sessions. The trainer will need to tailor the content to meet the skill levels of the trainees, focusing on providing real-world examples that are relevant to the local context of Sinuni.

The scope of work includes:

  • Needs Assessment: Conduct a quick assessment of the participants’ knowledge levels and business aspirations to tailor the curriculum accordingly.
  • Curriculum Development: Design training materials that cover topics such as entrepreneurship, business plan development, financial literacy, cash flow management, marketing strategies, customer service, and how to sustain a business in competitive environments.
  • Training Delivery: Deliver daily training sessions, using a variety of interactive methods, including group discussions, case studies, and practical exercises to ensure active engagement and learning.
  • One-on-One Coaching: Provide individual support and coaching to participants, guiding them through the development of their business plans and offering personalized advice on overcoming business challenges.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Assess the progress of participants using pre- and post-training assessments, providing feedback on their performance and readiness to implement their business ideas.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Training Design and Facilitation:
  • Develop a structured training program with clear objectives for each session.
  • Utilize adult learning principles and interactive training techniques to enhance engagement.
  • Adjust the curriculum to address the specific needs and backgrounds of the trainees.
  • Business Planning Support:
    • Assist participants in drafting feasible business plans, including financial projections and marketing strategies.
    • Offer practical advice on managing the day-to-day operations of small businesses.
  • Post-Training Reporting and Recommendations:
    • Prepare a comprehensive training report summarizing key activities, participant feedback, and the outcomes of the training.
    • Provide recommendations for additional support or follow-up activities to ensure the long-term success of the trainees.

    Expected Deliverables:

    1. A detailed training plan and materials tailored to the needs of the participants.
    2. Delivery of a 10-day interactive training program in Sinuni.
    3. Individualized business plans developed in collaboration with trainees.
    4. Post-training report, including an evaluation of participants’ progress, lessons learned, and recommendations for future support.

    Working Conditions:
    The training will be conducted over 10 consecutive days in Sinuni, with approximately 5-7 hours of training per day. The trainer will report to the Project Manager and collaborate closely with AGO’s field staff to ensure smooth delivery of the training. All necessary logistics, including training venues and materials, will be arranged by AGO
