The Nursing Program Senior Manager is a new position and will play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery and growth of the McGrath Cancer Care Nurse program.

The role is responsible for overseeing and facilitating key service deliverables during this period of growth and providing project management support. This includes project planning, health service consultation and program implementation planning involving management of timelines, resources and key milestones.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Support the Nursing Program team to guide the operations of the national nursing program
  • Provide line management and leadership for Nursing Program Managers
  • Work closely with the Nursing Program team to ensure the program is delivered in line with the Foundation’s key strategic objectives
  • Support the planning, implementation and delivery of McGrath Cancer Care Nurse positions and key stakeholder engagement sector wide as required
  • Work closely with the Nursing Program leadership team to ensure key reporting outputs are delivered and learnings embedded
  • Support the Nursing Program Managers to streamline the program to enhance and improve efficiencies and effectiveness

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Tertiary qualifications in project management, health sciences and/or experience in a health-related field
  • Demonstrated program and operational management skills including oversight of budgets and project expenditure to support the strategy
  • Experience managing a team with the ability to lead, motivate, establish priorities and manage deadlines for yourself and your team
  • Strong understanding of the operating environment of state and national health services and structures
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to build effective relationships
  • Proven experience in managing programs including planning and reporting, and creating efficiencies within the service and program
