Cincinnati Children’s Hospital seeks a visionary, dynamic, innovative, and collaborative leader and mentor to serve as the next Director for the Division of Experimental Hematology and Cancer Biology. The Director will lead a team of exceptional scientists who conduct basic research across systems related to blood and cancer, with the goal of translating research results into clinical treatments.
The opportunity
- Lead and grow a division of 26 primary and 11 secondary faculty members with existing programs in research, innovation, discovery, clinical translation, and education in the broad areas of cancer and blood diseases.
- Lead the cancer and hematology-related research intersections for external relationships and partnerships of the Cancer and Blood Diseases Institute and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Research Foundation, including with other academic medical centers, foundations, and industry.
- Develop faculty including recruitment, evaluations, guidance, and mentoring to productive academic careers with external funding, while ensuring professionalism and a highly positive and collaborative culture.
- Oversee, support, and guide faculty in the basic sciences, promoting scientific and translational discoveries in the field of blood and cancer.
Who you are
- PhD, MD, or MD/PhD and rank of Associate or Full Professor with eligibility for appointment as an affiliated faculty at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.
- Extensive knowledge and research productivity in the fields of cancer biology and/or hematology.
- Prior leadership experience, experience and commitment to recruiting, mentoring, and developing diverse young faculty
