Background:

This position will fall under the Environment and Energy (E2) Group which is comprised of three units: Ecosystem Services, Clean Energy, and Forestry and Natural Resource Management. The E2 group collaborates closely with other Winrock Groups, including Agriculture, Resilience and Water; Human Rights, Education & Empowerment, The Wallace Center, Domestic Programs, and Corporate Affairs, to identify and implement cutting-edge solutions to climate change. The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) funded ClimAct activity will be based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The activity is focused on supporting Bangladesh’s transition to net-zero and climate-resilient development pathways. This involves three key objectives: catalyzing climate-positive shifts in the policy landscape, transforming economic and financial systems, and enhancing governance and citizen engagement. 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support and ensure smooth and efficient operation of the office
  • Receive guidance from the supervisor in setting up regional offices, undertake field visits, and provide logistical support for the proper functioning of the regional and site offices
  • Work closely with the procurement manager on delivery and installation of the office non-expendable property (NXP) properties in Dhaka, regional and site offices and assist in maintaining the NXP inventory tracker in accordance with USAID and Winrock policies and procedures
  • Supervise tasks of the office aides (cleaners, drivers, etc.)
  • Arrange pick up and accommodation of the visiting expatriates
  • Schedule and monitor duties of support staff on weekends/holidays
  • Provide logistics support for field trips by office personnel, arrange for tickets if other means of transport are used, assign vehicles, etc.
  • Assist in overall maintenance works of office equipment, building, furnishings, arrange for bids and provide recommendations for repair
  • Assist in conducting periodic inventory of expendable supplies, update and maintain inventory records in file
  • Provide assistance and logistics for in-house/outside seminar/training/workshops including purchase of required stationeries, venue booking, transportation, etc.
  • Perform other administrative works including but not limited to collection and delivery of mail to and from the USAID, all Government of Bangladesh (GoB) ministries/agencies, collection of utility bills, shifting telephone and furniture, procurement of publications/books, overtime requests for support employees
  • Assist with tasks as assigned by the supervisor

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Degree in business administration, accounting, management, or related field
  • Minimum 4-5 years’ experience in project administration and management
  • Previous work on USAID or other donor-funded projects
  • Able to meet deadlines
  • Good communications and people skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with USAID cooperative agreements
