The purpose of the position is to ensure on a daily-basis high standard of hygiene and cleanliness at UN House premises and the intermediate exterior. Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Building Manager, the Cleaner provides a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the office. The Cleaner demonstrates a client-oriented approach, high sense of responsibility, courtesy, tact and the ability to work around people of different national and cultural backgrounds. The Government of the Republic of Serbia has transmitted to the UN Country Team in Serbia a state-owned building to be used as a UN House. The United Nations Development Programme in Serbia acts as a Manager of the UN Common Premises and in this capacity has signed the Memorandum of Agreement for the building with the Government of the Republic of Serbia on 1 September 2015. The UN House will offer to tenant UN entities office space and facilities for meetings and conferencing
 

 
Duties and Responsibilities
 
  • Perform project office cleaning functions as required, including washing, sweeping and dusting.
  • Clean surfaces, including floors, furniture, wall, doors, windows, and other office supplies.
  • Empty and clean waste-paper baskets on regular basis:
  • Keep project office premises clean.
  • Maintain and clean all cleaning equipment utilized.
  • Prepare office premises for the changes of year seasons.
  • Clean project meeting room facilities as and when required.
  • Ensure timely watering of greenery in the project office premises.
  • Monitor and inform supervisor regarding stocks of all cleaning supplies.
  • The incumbent performs other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.

 

Institutional Arrangement 

Under the direct supervision of the Building Manager, the Cleaner will be responsible for providing cleaning functions in the UN House office premises in a timely and secure manner through fulfilling the assigned tasks.

Required Skills and Experience

 
Education:
  • Secondary education is required 
Experience:
  • At least 1 year of experience as a cleaner will be an asset

  • Initiative, ability to work under pressure, ethics, and honesty.

Required Languages:

  • Fluency in Serbian language. Knowledge of English is desirable
