How can you make a difference?

If you are hired as our Partnerships Specialist for PublicPrivate Partnerships, you will be part of a team that works in close collaboration with other sections and units in the Country Office, and with the Regional Office, and with Public Partnerships Division and Private Fundraising Partnerships colleagues, to ensure a multipronged approach which proactively targets strategic partnerships. You will report to the Representative and work closely with the Partnerships Specialist (Political allianceto pursue these aims and build partnerships that can deliver and leverage results for children in Mexico.

Your main responsibilities will be:

Strengthen partnerships and advocacy with key stakeholders.

Support the design and management of engagement strategies and plans with the objective of increasing quality resources and fundraising for UNICEF.

Provide technical guidance and support to the other teams in the Country Office to strengthen capacity for partnerships and resource mobilization and management of public and private partnerships.

Promote knowledge management in the Country Office.

Lead and support the facilitation and maintenance of relations with Embassies, missions, and other public and private sector partners based in Mexico, in close cooperation with the Regional Office and concerned Headquarters Divisions, notably PPD and PFP.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Minimum requirements:

  • Education: An advanced university degree, preferably, in social or political science, international relations, management or any other relevant field is required.
    • Alternatively, two additional years of experience that were obtained after the conclusion of a Bachelor’s degree may be accepted in lieu of the Advanced degree. 
  • Work Experience: A minimum of five years of progressively responsible professional work experience in the development of strategic partnerships or external relations.
  • Experience in partnerships related to economic affairs or public economy is required.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and advocacy skills.
  • Language Requirements: Fluency in Spanish. Proficiency (advanced levein English.

Desirables:

  • Work experience in or familiarity working with partnerships with nearshoring businesses in Mexico or other countries would be an asset.
  • Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency.
  • Fluency in English is an advantage.
