Position description

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join the Space Rapid Capabilities Office (SpRCO) team as the Senior Operations Manager – DC. We are looking for a dedicated professional to contribute to our team of diverse and qualified experts.

In this key leadership role, you will serve as a Senior Liaison, providing SpRCO with comprehensive strategic and tactical support for internal and external outreach efforts. You will engage with senior Department of Defense (DoD) leaders, federal agencies, and the intelligence community, advising on strategy and tactics to promote SpRCO initiatives across these organizations. Your expertise will be essential in fostering collaborative relationships and advancing critical objectives.

Compensation Minimum: $240,000

Compensation Maximum: $260,000

Job Requirements:

Skills / Experience Required

  • Current Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI Eligibility
  • 10+ years of experience in an SAP/SCI environment, with relevant work within the past five years
  • 20+ years of expertise in Large Space Program Acquisition, Systems Engineering, or Operations, including at least five years in Space Operations or Space Operations support roles
  • 15+ years of experience with National Security Space ground, space, and/or launch systems
  • Proven ability to provide recommendations on Acquisition Strategy, including tailoring milestone requirements and documentation to align with warfighter needs and inform technical and operational deliverables
  • Strong ability to advocate and foster partnerships with Defense organizations (DARPA, SCO, USSF, and other federal entities within the NCR) to create synergies for SpRCO programs
  • Familiarity with US Space missions, organization, and operations with a strong understanding and network within the Pentagon with OSD, USSF as well as the Intelligence Community
  • Exemplary writing skills with the capacity to convey complex topics clearly, directly, and engagingly
  • Willingness to consent to and successfully complete a Government Counterintelligence Scope Polygraph, if required

Education / Certifications

  • Master’s degree in political science, Public Policy, International Relations, Engineering or related discipline
  • Relevant work experience and training may be considered in lieu of a degree
