ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Internews is working to improve the usability of open-source security tools to better meet the needs of at-risk civil society organizations, whose unique needs are often overlooked by developers. Many powerful and widely used open-source security tools are maintained by volunteers or small teams who are often under-resourced and unable to implement updates which would better serve high-risk media and civil society users.
Internews is looking for front-end developer(s) to implement recommendations for the open-source tools FleetDM and Wazuh that was gathered through usability testing conducted by global civil society partners. This development work will entail the creation and submission of pull requests through GitHub.
LOGISTICS
Internews has offices in Arcata, CA, Washington, DC and London, UK. Ultimately this is a remote-based role and candidates based anywhere in the world will be considered. However, there are some locations where Internews does not support remote work.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, so candidates are encouraged to apply soon.
These are limited-term positions anticipated for October-December 2024.
