Senior Logistics Experts – Short Term Deployments Pool
About MAG:
MAG (Mines Advisory Group) is an international humanitarian organisation based in Manchester, UK, and working in 32 countries. We remove landmines and unexploded ordnance to release safe and productive land for communities, and work to reduce the threat of armed violence by supporting governments to safely manage weapons and ammunition. In 1997, MAG was a co-recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize for our work campaigning for the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention.
About the role:
MAG is constantly seeking to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and responsiveness of our logistics operations. We strive to optimise our logistics framework and maintain a competitive edge while supporting MAG activities. The expertise of practiced professionals in this field is indispensable. Senior Logistics Experts are needed to respond both to recurring needs and also to prepare for a scale up of operations across several emerging country programmes. For these emerging programmes in particular, several short-term senior deployments are required to establish robust logistics processes that support MAG’s activities. To address this, MAG is initiating a pre-selection process to refresh the Pool of senior logistics experts, created in 2020, to match one or more of the specific deployment Terms of Reference listed and described below.
Specific terms for the Pool
- Duration of the Pool: Pre-selected senior logistics experts will agree to their details (including CV and other personal information as necessary) being kept by MAG within a dedicated Pool until 31 December 2025. Toward the end of 2025, we will write to all Pool members and ask if we can continue to keep their data for these purposes, for another year. If we do not receive a response, or if an individual requests to be removed from the Pool, their data will be deleted. Pool members can also request that they be removed from the Pool, and have their personal data deleted, at any time.
- Assignments: when undertaking a deployment in line with one of the specific ToR’s listed and described in the attached, the list of approved senior logistics experts pre-validated for the specific type of ToR will be contacted to check availability. If multiple experts within the Pool are available, an interview with the hiring manager, as well as their relevant experience within the operating context, will determine the selected expert that will be deployed.
- Duration of Assignments: Short-term deployments are intended to not exceed 12 weeks. The exact duration is pre-agreed by parties ahead of each deployment and is related to the specific type of support required by MAG Country Programme.
- Destination of Assignments: deployment destinations are needs based; the Pool covers all MAG Country Programmes worldwide.
