About the roleIn this role you are responsible to drive the execution and general advisory on core human resources services and solutions along the employee life cycle. If you possess a broad knowledge of human resources function, from hiring to onboarding and from employee compensation to development, if you have a passion for HR, and are familiar with UK employment law and look to broaden and advance your career in the field, this is the place to be.Reporting to the Head of HR, UK & Ireland, you will work closely with functional HR Partners and HR Specialist as well as experts from the Centres of Excellence (CoE), Recruitment, Talent, Inclusion and Culture (TCI) and Reward, to use tools and to handle activities via a pragmatic approach and with a rigorous focus on operational excellence, to deliver end to end HR in country.We are offering you an environment in which you can thrive and challenge the status quo. We stand for impactful practical solutions and building excellent organisational capabilities.Core ActivitiesEnsure that people practices are compliant through application and sound knowledge of policies, regulations, and employment lawExecute standard employee relation matters including restructuring, grievances, disciplinaries, exits, underperformance, performance and absence management. Including where necessary, working with internal and external Legal Counsel and Employment Tribunals.Execute restructures and reorganisations: leading redundancy consultations and responsible for reviewing and completing all relevant paperworkProvide global HR support to allocated MDs within the group functions, including topics such as global transformations, global talent initiatives and retention strategiesDeploying cultural change interventions, capability and upskilling plans for line managers and employees guided by TCIEnable and challenge the business on performance and talent management, promotions, and annual compensation review processUnderstand the workforce / talent challenges in the country with an outside in perspectiveDeploy relevant standard solutions to address issues in line with the need of the business (talent management, succession planning, engagement, attrition, retention, performance management, compensation)Enable Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) throughout the employee life cycleUnderstand local market dynamics and articulate the company’s EVPEngage with employee representative bodiesProvide regular feedback on issues on policy practicability and efficiencies to COEs (Rewards, Group HR Processes, HR Organisation Management, etc.)Consider consequences from key people metrics to diagnose trends, opportunities, and challengesPresent at relevant forums internally and externally where relevantProfessional Experience and skills8+ years Human Resources or equivalent experience as HR Advisor, Partner or GeneralistSound demonstrable knowledge of human resources generalist end to end core topicsExtensive experience of local legislation, end to end employee relations, benefits, and market trendsDemonstrable track record of working with stakeholders at all levelsStrong coaching and facilitation skillsExperience of working in global organisations with matrix organisational set up (preferable)Strong English communication skills, verbally and in writingAbility to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and to handle ambiguityComplex problem solving and decision-making skillsAnalytical mindset and critical thinking skillsA strong business sense, logic, and executive presenceAbility to rigorously implement end to end HR processes and projects on time and with a can-do attitudeFlexibility to adjust to changing situations, prioritising workload, maintaining a positive attitudeConfident with technology, applications and have ability to interpret and draw from dataBe a personable empathetic individual with very strong relationship building and interpersonal skillsBe curious, and stretch yourself beyond what you knowStay calm, focused, and resilient in difficult timesFail fast and bounce back quickly after mistakesTake personal risks that are in the best interest of our companyVoice unpopular views when needed for the benefit of the companyChallenge behaviour that lacks integrity and support others who do the sameSwiss Re is an equal opportunity employer.
