The COVID-19 pandemic and efforts to control it have threatened livelihoods, introduced new workplace risks, and made unstable work relationships even more precarious, especially for women. This mixed-methods implementation research will be conducted in Dhaka and Gazipur, Bangladesh, with the aim to test the effectiveness of a context-specific intervention by addressing the gender inequality in women’s work and health issues at the structural and political level. The position holder will be directly involved in the research activities on strengthening preparedness, focusing on working women and factory workers under the Health System and Population Studies Division (HSPSD).
Duties and responsibilities :
The Research Officer will directly report to the Research Investigator and will be required to perform the following responsibilities:
- Carry out systematic review;
- Assist in project implementation and intervention delivery;
- Ensure the quality of intervention and implementation research activities;
- Apply scientific analysis to research findings and derive implications for public health;
- Develop scientific manuscript, research reports and policy briefs with support from supervisor;
- Draft concept note for research grant in alignment with Urban Health Research Group objectives;
- Maintain coordination with the relevant stakeholders in Urban Health, Gender and Decent Work.
Required qualification and experience:
- Master’s degree in Public Health;
- 3 years work experience.
