We are looking for an outstanding Director of Marketing and Advancement who will lead a fantastic team of creative and dedicated colleagues, to enable us to maintain our success, whilst further growing our profile.The RoleThis is a unique and exciting opportunity to join our team. With regular access to the Vice-Chancellor (the organisation’s Chief Executive Officer) and reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will play a pivotal role in the strategic and operational leadership for the University’s marketing, communications, student recruitment and development activity.We strive for excellence at Loughborough – we have a strong and exciting brand, but don’t want to stand still. Your core duty will be to define, distil and project the core market proposition and distinctive characteristics of the University. This role will give you the opportunity to continue to raise the University’s profile, inspire others and lead us to deliver a tangible improvement to the reputation and image of the University regionally, nationally and internationally. You will also lead our student recruitment activities.The Director of Marketing and Advancement is a strategically important role to the future success of Loughborough University, and if successful you will be stepping into an organisation that recognises and values this.To be successful in the role, you will:
- Be professionally qualified, and an experienced creative marketing professional and leader
- Have significant experience of leading marketing communications, student recruitment or development, in a large and complex organisation
- Be an inspirational leader and strong team player committed to the University’s strategic objectives and the achievement of excellence
- Be able to demonstrate a strong and unwavering commitment to matters of equity, diversity and inclusion, and a commitment to the well-being and professional development of your team
- Ideally have a successful track record in Higher Education (HE). Candidates without prior HE experience are encouraged to apply but should demonstrate a good knowledge of the challenges facing the sector and an awareness of HE culture, and an ability to operate successfully within it.
