The Role

The Inclusivity Coordinator role is responsible for the following key functions within the WQPHN organisation:

  • Advising and supporting Senior Management and Executives to integrate inclusivity into planning, commissioning, and collaborations with Alliance partners, ensuring positive outcomes for individuals living with disabilities and diverse communities.
  • Building meaningful relationships within WQPHN and externally to advance diversity, inclusion, and belonging across the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage initiatives focused on cultural change, workforce diversity, equity, and inclusion, including program design, training, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Support the development and execution of the regional Diversity & Inclusion Strategy, guiding projects from concept through delivery and evaluating impact.
  • Collaborate with priority populations (e.g., First Nations groups, LGBTIQA+ communities) to embed their perspectives in WQPHN’s service planning.
  • Coordinate the implementation of policies, project frameworks, and social procurement commitments that align with inclusivity goals.
  • Monitor and report on diversity and inclusion project outcomes, using data to assess progress and drive continuous improvement.

The Right Person

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in health or human services or equivalent experience in a social service setting.
  • Experience with diversity and inclusion principles, staying current with trends and best practices.
  • Strong project management abilities, with experience in data analysis, program design, and implementation.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships, present complex ideas, and engage diverse groups.
  • A high-level understanding of the needs of regional, rural, and remote communities, and the ability to represent WQPHN professionally and autonomously.
  • Proficiency with computing applications (e.g., SharePoint, word processing, spreadsheets).
  • A current, unrestricted Australian driver’s licence.

Our Working Environment

Ideally, this critical role will be based within the WQPHN region in Longreach, Mount Isa, Winton or Roma; however, applicants are welcome to apply from across the state. Hybrid work-from-home arrangements also apply. The remuneration package for this role includes attractive tax-exempt salary packaging options.
