Position description
We are looking for a Korean Language Editor to review and improve the quality of WSJ and Dow Jones Newswires content that is translated into Korean, including working with cutting-edge machine learning tools. You will work in the WSJ newsroom, liaise with business and technology experts inside and outside the company, and spearhead new projects and opportunities with Korean-language content.
The role requires fluency in English and Korean, strong command of financial and business terminology, familiarity working with publishing systems and machine learning tools.
You Will:

Lead various projects to improve Korean-language content

Work with business and technology experts in and out of the company to explore new ways to further expand Korean-language content, including working with new technology and publishing platforms

Be a point person with newsroom managers in setting the standards in quality and fluency of Korean translation

Review and edit news articles translated into Korean

Write headlines and summaries that are accurate and appealing to the audience

Build a glossary of specialized terms
You Have:

Previous work experience in journalism or financial news editing

Proven experience as an English-to-Korean translator or language expert, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy

Comprehensive knowledge of finance, markets and business news with a good understanding of our audiences’ interests

Organizational skills and an ability to prioritize your work
The position will be based in South Korea or other locations in Asia. Other locations will be considered under the right circumstances, and will report to the Operations and Languages Editor, Asia.
