About the role

  • Hybrid and remote working arrangements available
  • 1.0 FTE (part time considered)
  • Fixed term to 30 November 2025
  • $125,256 – $146,609 + 11.5% super + 17.5% annual leave loading + on call allowance

Due to extended leave within the team, Our Watch is searching for an experienced manager to lead our media engagement activity.

Working within a dynamic and supportive Marketing & Communications team, you’ll identify opportunities, provide strategic media advice and lead a small team of media professionals.

With an innate sense of what makes for good news, and a track record of effective issues management, this is your chance to make your mark in an impactful role in an organisation that is focused on culture, wellbeing and flexibility.

About you

  • You are a skilled communicator with a knack for storytelling and a strategic mindset.
  • You thrive in a collaborative environment, are comfortable providing strategic media advice to senior stakeholders, and can respond quickly to emerging issues and opportunities.
  • You love having your finger on the political news pulse and finding ways to tap into the conversation.
  • You understand advocacy and know how to work with a cross-section of teams to develop positioning pillars which cut through with the media and the public.
  • You’re passionate about good leadership and thrive on building teams from the ground up.
  • You love problem solving, and can expertly manage media issues with sensitivity, efficiency and an astute political lens.
  • While not necessarily from the prevention sector, you understand Our Watch’s vision and mission, and you can see how this will motivate you to help grow Our Watch’s reach, awareness and engagement.
