To help us attract and retain major Swiss donors in the German and French speaking area of Switzerland (in particular foundations, companies and institutions) we are looking for a Partnerships Assistant (60-80%) in our Zurich office from February 2025 (or upon agreement).
Your role
Within a growing team of 20 passionate people, you will work in the Partnerships Team along 3 other team members. As a Partnerships Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the management and development of partnerships by assisting with the day-to-day administrative and operational tasks. You will closely work with and coordinate between the Partnerships and Program Team. Specific responsibilities include:
- Identify new opportunities from Swiss foundations (in both the German and French speaking part of Switzerland), companies (in both the German and French speaking part of Switzerland) and institutions (French speaking part), reach out and gather data that can inform fundraising strategies.
- Prepare and support the development of high quality and successful funding proposals that are in line with organizational priorities and procedures and with donor’s requirements and wishes
- Prepare and support the development of high-quality reports in alignment with the donor’s requirements and wishes, in close collaboration with the Program Department
- Professional relationship management with existing company partners including (employee giving) platforms and potentially some foundations as well, ensuring their long-term engagement, support and income.
- Build new relationships with SMEs (Christmas giving, one-off giving, employee giving, multiyear support)
- Manage multiple administrative tasks, ensuring that all partnership agreements, donor information and fundraising materials are accurate and up to date.
Your profile
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills who is looking to gain experience in partnership management and business development. You enjoy working in a dynamic and international environment and want to work for a great cause. You possess a mix of technical interpersonal, and organizational skills to support the team effectively and you have at least 3 years of experience in one of the following fields: partner/client management, fundraising, administration, business development or a closely related field.
Ideally, you have the following skills:
- Completed apprenticeship or Bachelor’s degree or about to graduate in a relevant field (development work, (business) administration or a related field)
- German or French as a native language, with good proficiency in the other language. Strong English skills required.
- Strong communication (both written and oral) and relationship skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Very good interpersonal skills
- Very good research/screening skills
- Detail-oriented
- Knowledge of fundraising platforms
- Ability to perform in a cross-functional team
- Ability to work in an international environment
- Ability to think out of the box and propose creative solutions
- Advanced formatting skills in MS Word, Powerpoint and Excel
