The Lab Business Development and Specimen Reception Unit oversees all laboratory sample collection centers of icddr,b throughout the city. The unit is responsible for coordinating various aspects of laboratory outreach operations, including client management, registration, billing, sample collection, and report delivery activities.
Brief Description of Position:
- Jr. Accounts Officer reporting to the Senior Manager, Business Intelligence and Analytics will be mainly responsible for performing following duties and responsibilities:
- Oversee the collection of cash, cheques, mobile financial banking transactions, and other monetary instruments from relevant units or persons.
- Reconcile recovery deposits with the ERP system.
- Prepare daily revenue reports using MS Excel and similar software(s)/ Internet/cloud applications.
- Oversee the deposit of all collections and ensure cash books are updated.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Tax and VAT regulations.
- Process and follow up on all sample collection center rent and utility bills in a timely manner.
- Handle the unit’s petty cash and arrange timely reimbursements.
- Prepare and organize documents to minimize audit queries and observations, ensuring smooth data management.
- Ensure adherence to the center’s policies and procedures.
- Maintain proper documentation, prepare information statements, and provide them to the supervisor as required.
- Uphold the confidentiality of information by adhering strictly to the laboratory confidentiality agreement, icddr,b’s code of conduct and other applicable policies.
Required qualifications and experience:
- Minimum Bachelor degree in Commerce/BBA in Accounting/Finance
- Minimum 3 years of experience in relevant field.
- Must have knowledge of advanced MS Excel and similar software(s).
- Preference will be given to candidates with a Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Knowledge of ERP software will be an added advantage.

ROLE PURPOSE:The Gender & Safeguarding Officer will be responsible for overseeing the Safeguarding, Feminist Participatory Action Research [PAR] data collection & analyses, Beneficiary Feedback Management [BFM], and analysis of impact assessment, reporting, and spatial presentation. This role involves supporting the consortia partners' functioning to systematically generate programme quality and precise safeguarding support, facilitate data collection and analysis, and streamline reporting processes regarding the CARE for Women project’s overall goal. The Gender & Safeguarding Officer collaborates with cross-functional teams, provides technical expertise on safeguarding, and ensures the quality of PAR data and information. Key responsibilities include organising boot camps, impact assessment of the project deliveries, climate resilience support to the local community, supporting and managing BFM, facilitating PAR data collection and reporting structures, and coordinating with consortia partners. The Safeguarding officer is also anticipated to be a technical user of safeguarding principles, code of conduct, and reporting mechanisms, thus the position is expected to contribute to ensuring the overall support to the consortia partners where needed. The role also involves rolling out capacity development plans for technical and implementing partners in the operationalization of safeguarding, BFM and function as a help desk to assist them as per need. Additionally, the Gender & Safeguarding Officer will closely coordinate and collaborate with the Project Manager, Advocacy & Liaison Coordinator, District MEL & Project officers and Upazila Field mobilisers.
