We pursue this goal by partnering with stakeholders such as the government, non-governmental organizations, change-makers in civil society and the private sector to influence and improve laws, policies, and programmes which will impact how children access quality services. We are in a unique position to collaborate with everyone including advocates and service providers who work closely with children and their families, as well as the elected leaders who are responsible to ensure that laws and policies are in line with children’s rights. Most importantly, we integrate the voices of our children and adolescents by engaging them on the issues that affect their lives.
Focusing our attention on children in vulnerable situations, we have five priority areas in the Jamaica country programme document (2022 to 2026):
- Child protection
- Climate action and resilience
- Education
- Social policy
- Survive and thrive
Everything we do is guided by the Convention on the Rights of the Child, which Jamaica ratified in 1991.
This consultancy will proactively engage all relevant stakeholders to work collaboratively towards the roll out of the Learning Passport Jamaica. Under the supervision of the SDG Joint Programme Coordinator and the UNICEF Education Specialist and the Chief Education Officer at MoEY. To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
- An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in
- A first University Degree in a relevant field combined with 2 additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree.
- A minimum of [3] of relevant professional experience in education technology, digital content management, and capacity building of learners and educators.
- Strong understanding of how to evaluate and measure content quality and effectiveness.
- Minimum 3 years experience in curriculum development considered an asset. Knowledge of statistics, communication, or other relevant field will also be considered. In lieu of a specific academic degree, relevant experience may be considered to meet this requirement.
- Minimum 3 years experience in design of multimedia content, infographics, audio & video, voice-over, storyboarding and interactive elements of eLearning, including self-paced interactive e-learning for school-aged children. Knowledge of the latest developments in digital (education) solutions and platforms, including experience with content authoring tool like Articulate Storyline and Adobe Captivate.
- Minimum 2 years experience in LMS and content management on LMS Minimum years experience working in Jamaica or the Caribbean region, is highly desirable.
- Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is considered an asset.
- Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
