Are you financially strong and capable of seeing the bigger picture in complex grant agreements? The INET Finance team in the Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently seeking two resourceful Finance Specialists.
Who are we?
The Implementing Network (INET) Finance team in DRC HQ provides operational finance support to implementing units in DK Integration, Asylum, Department for Strategy, Programme and Results (SPR) and our Stand-By Roster. We oversee a large grants portfolio lead by HQ departments, some of which are complex and include activities across a number of our global country operations.
About the job
In the INET Finance team we collaborate closely with the other INET support functions teams to support a wide range of programmatic teams with finance and grants management tasks. So, if you’re eager to learn about our different programmes and learn a broad variety of skills, this is the position for you. Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
- Lead and coordinate budget revisions and preparation of financial reports in close collaboration with HQ project teams and finance counterparts in country operations and regional offices
- Control booked transactions locally and across DRC country operations on the grant portfolio designated to the position
- Support the budgeting processes for the designated organisational areas (grants/projects budgets and annual budgets)
- Provide analysis of financial information related to the designated organisational areas
- In close cooperation with Operational Managers reinforce existing procedures and systems for financial management and control in compliance with guidelines of DRC’s Operations Handbook, internal guidelines and donor requirements
About you
To be successful in this role we expect you to be willing to learn and eager to find areas for improvement. Moreover, we also expect the following:
Required
- Experience in generating management reports and supporting budget development for senior management teams
- Ability to provide thoughtful analysis of financial data and contribute to financial decision making
- Strong communication skills to positively enhance collaboration between our global teams
- At least a bachelor’s degree in relevant field, namely business administration, finance, etc.
- Full professional proficiency in English
Desirable
- Solid financial management background, preferably from an international humanitarian or development organisation
- Knowledge of statutory and regulatory reporting requirements
- Experience with using ERP systems and ability to understand their architecture
- Professional proficiency in Danish is desirable for one of the two positions

Contract length: Permanent
Workplace: Borgergade 10, Copenhagen, Denmark – from autumn 2025: Lyngbyvej 100, 2100 Copenhagen
Start date: 1 March 2025
Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the agreement between DRC and AC (agreement for academics) or other relevant collective agreement.
