The Project Assistant will work under the supervision of the National Project Officer for the Global Centre on Digital Wages for Decent Work in Jakarta. He/she will collaborate with the team of another project on SMEs and access to finance in the ILO Country Office in Jakarta and receive technical guidance from the managing team of the Global Centre on Digital Wages for Decent Work in Geneva. The incumbent will also coordinate with and receive guidance from relevant ILO administrative, programme and finance support areas within the Country Office.
Duties:
The Project Assistant will be responsible for providing efficient and effective administrative support for the activities of the ILO Global Centre on Digital Wages for Decent Work in Indonesia. Additionally, he/she will support the technical activities aimed at promoting the transition to responsible wage payments in Indonesia, carried out by the National Project Officer.
In particular, the incumbent will:
- Provide assistance in the formulation of the project’s work plan and the effective implementation, communication, and monitoring of project activities, in line with ILO policies, project strategies, and in accordance with ILO guidelines and procedures.
- Assist in the programming of project resources and preparation of budget estimates, analysing and monitoring the status of resources in comparison to planned activities.
- Serve as the focal point for project administrative and financial matters. Initiate requests, ensure terms of reference (TOR) in line with project objectives, obtain necessary clearances, process and follow up on administrative actions.
- Initial review for the technical and financial reports, proposals, and expenditure data received from consultants and implementing partners to ensure conformity with agreed deliverables, approved budgets, and ILO financial rules and regulations.
- Liaise with project partners and consultants and attend meetings with project stakeholders to provide and gather information.
- Assist in organize information and maintain databases on digital wage payments in Indonesia and related topics, such as financial inclusion of workers, digital financial services, financial consumer protection, payment systems, wage policies, social protection policies, gender equality, women’s economic empowerment, business formalization, and small enterprise development. This includes gathering reports, academic papers, regulations, and quantitative data.

- Perform preliminary analysis of collected information and data, including identifying priority issues and potential technical assistance needs for possible inclusion in project briefs and reports.
- Draft and/or translate press releases and news articles on project activities, official correspondence, and other documents and public information materials. Assist in the preparation of briefs, periodical reports, training and capacity-building guides, manuals, working papers, case studies, etc.
- Participate in missions to monitor and report on program implementation.
- Support monitoring and evaluation activities by maintaining and updating databases of enterprises and workers supported by project activities, as well as of certified trainers and partners, to measure outreach.
- Provide support in organizing virtual and in-person seminars, workshops, training sessions, and meetings to raise awareness of wage payment digitization, disseminate knowledge, and build the capacities of enterprises, workers, government officials, and financial service providers.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the National Project Officer and the Global Centre managing team to support the project and contribute to ILO Country Office activities
Required qualifications
Education:
- Completion of secondary school education.
Experience:
- At least seven years of project administration work experience. Experience working in projects in the fields of enterprise development, financial inclusion, digital financial services or digital payments, and women’s economic empowerment would be an asset.
Languages:
- Excellent command of English and Bahasa Indonesia.
