Context
The project aims at strengthening the operational capacity of the Ports of Aden and Mukalla through the rehabilitation of damaged facilities and procurement of necessary parts and equipment to contribute to the efficient and cost-effective delivery of humanitarian assistance to the Yemeni population. This assignment will be based in Amman/ Jordan, and s/he will visit Yemen as needed.
Key responsibilities:
- Monitoring & Reporting:
- Design data collection protocols, track progress, ensure data quality, and draft reports aligned with project frameworks.
- Conduct field visits, analyze outcomes, and provide recommendations.
- Support milestone tracking and organize events like donor engagements.
- Visibility & Communications:
- Develop media-friendly content for platforms and publications in collaboration with the UNDP Communication Unit.
- Ensure project details are integrated into communication materials.
- Knowledge Management:
- Document best practices, lessons learned, and create knowledge products.
- Facilitate learning and collaboration among stakeholders, engaging with networks and communities of practice.
- Promoting Volunteerism:
- Advocate for volunteerism, mentor new volunteers, and contribute to UNV publications and activities.
Expected Outcomes:
- High-quality support for UNDP, enhanced monitoring and reporting, improved stakeholder engagement, and effective communication of project achievements.

Nationality
Candidate must be a national of a country other than the country of assignment.
Relevant experience
7 years
Languages
English, Level: Fluent, Required Arabic, Level: Basic, Desirable
Required education level
Bachelor degree or equivalent in in social science or economy, preferably in economics, international relations, development studies, statistics, management, engineering or related disciplines.

Skills and experience
monitoring and evaluation or results-based management, and reporting. -Excellent writing and analytical skills in drafting concept notes and reports. – Knowledge and experience of M&E systems – Experience working within Development agencies preferably in the government system. -Excellent interpersonal and networking skills, including the ability to liaise effectively at project management levels. – Ability to communicate and function effectively in an international, multicultural environment. – Ability to work effectively in a team, having experience working in the UN or other international development organizations. – Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, and reporting skills. – Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing. – Only Japanese nationals will be shortlisted.
