The British Ambassador’s Residence has an excellent team of staff responsible for the well-being and entertainment of all guests within the Gardens and Residence. It involves supporting and assisting the horticulturist in all areas of the residence grounds including lawn areas, diverse gardens and greenhouses; maintaining them to a high standard of display horticulture. The Gardener is an important position within this highly effective team and reports directly to the Horticulturist.

- The successful candidate will be a self-starter who has the drive and initiative to work independently on tasks on their own, along with enthusiasm, a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- He/she will have good communication skills and be able to take instruction and direction.
- Basic Knowledge of the care of ornamental plantings including turf, trees, shrubs, herbaceous plants and annuals is essential.

This post is full-time, 40 hour week, over five early morning shifts of 7:00-15:30hrs. Occasional overtime and occasional weekend work May-October.

If you are not a US Citizen or a US Permanent Resident, or the dependent of a diplomat (with an EAD card), you may not be eligible for employment with the UK government.
